Career

Ruhet Genç obtained his B.S. degree at Istanbul Technical University and his Ph.D. degree at Istanbul University. He worked in Logistics and Tourism industries in Turkey, Germany and Canada, then he joined the academic life at Beykent University in Istanbul, as the chair of the Department of International Transportation and Logistics. Since 2011 he is presently Coordinator of International Logistics and Transportation at Istanbul Bilgi University. He published articles and books and presented numerous papers in five continents at international conferences in the fields of both Logistics and Tourism Management. He is invited, scientific commity member of few International Journals. He has five books, five book chapters published. He speaks fluently English, German and French besides Turkish as he worked and/or studied those countries where these languages are local or major. He is the founder and shareholder of several major companies in the sector of Tourism and Logistics. These companies are serving internationally. His business background made him to build bridges between Business Life, Academia and People.

Ruhet Genç B.S. derecesini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi'nde ve doktora derecesini İstanbul Üniversitesi'nde aldı. Lojistik ve Turizm endüstrilerinde Türkiye'de, Almanya'da ve Kanada'da çalıştıktan sonra Beykent Üniversitesi'nde Uluslararası Lojistik ve Taşımacılık bölüm başkanı olarak akademik hayata katıldı. 2011'den beri İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Uluslararası Lojistik ve Taşımacılık bölüm koordinatörlüğü görevini sürdürüyor. Birçok kitap ve makale yayınladı, beş kıtada uluslar arası konferanslarda lojistik ve turizm yönetimi ile ilgili sunumlar yaptı. Uluslararası bilimsel dergilerde komite üyesidir. Beş kitabı, uluslararası beş kitap bölümü yayınlandı. Akıcı olarak Türkçe'nin yanında İngilizce, Almanca ve Fransızca konuşması bu dillerin lokal olarak konuşulduğu ülkelerde tahsil görmesinden ve/veya çalışmasından kaynaklanmıştır. Turizm ve lojistik sektöründeki birçok uluslararası şirketin kurucusu ya da hissedarıdır. Bu iş geçmişi, kendisinin, iş dünyası, akademi ve kültürler arası köprü kurmasını sağlamıştır.
